Abstract: In modern China, the situation is volatile, all business languishes, but the generation of engineers born this time became the founder of the Chinese engineering construction and development. They learn western advanced industrial technology to apply in nationbuilding. Meanwhile, they have historical sense of mission and pay close attention to the destiny of the nation and people. WU Huafu was an outstanding representative of them, either in engineering practice or teaching, he had responsibility, and emptied himself of all he had learned, making a significant contribution to Chinas engineering construction and the training of engineers.

摘要： 近代中国时局动荡，百业俱废，但这时期诞生的一代工程师却成为中国工程建设发展的奠基人，他们努力学习西方先进工业技术，应用于国家建设；密切关注国家和人民的命运，深具历史使命感。吴华甫就是其中的杰出代表，无论是投身工程实践还是转战教书育人，他都责无旁贷、倾其所学，为中国的工程建设和工程人的培养做出了重要贡献。
