《楚辞》英译的形与神 ——以许渊冲译本为例

Abstract: On the basis of conveying the meaning and transferring artistic conception, XU Yuanchongs English version of Elegies of the South reflects the features of the following points: transference of artistic conception by borrowing different forms of English poetry in order to achieve a new unity of content and form in translation; harmony of form and artistic conception by keeping the beauty of form in translation of antithesis, parallelism and irregular lengths of the source text; conversion, compensation and deletion are used to pursue artistic conception by neglecting the form.

摘要: 翻译家许渊冲以达意传神为基本原则,其《楚辞》英译文体现了借形传神、形神兼备、舍形求神的特点。译者借用英诗的不同诗体在译文中实现形式与内容新的统一;在处理原文的对偶结构、排比句式、长短句时尽量体现出形美;转换、补偿或增删等方法的综合使用突出了译文的神韵。
