Abstract: Although modern vernacular poems and Chinese classical poems have great distinction, it is influenced by the traditional poetry. The grammar and writing habits, imagery, as well as the rhetoric aspects have come down in one continuous line of contact. These phenomena indicate the new poetry and the classical poetry is not in opposing relationship. How to correctly handle the relationship between the traditional and modern poetry is closely related to the modern poetrys achievement.

摘要： 现代白话诗虽然与古典诗歌有巨大的区别，但它从各个方面都受到古典诗歌的影响。其词句语法和写作习惯、意象的选用和特点，以及修辞手法等方面都与古典诗歌有着一脉相承的联系。这些现象说明新诗与古典诗歌并非二元对立的关系。如何正确处理现代与传统的关系，最终会决定现代诗歌成就的高低。
