Abstract: Praisesong for the Widow is the third novel of Paule Marshall, and it is also the last one of her autobiographical trilogy. Under racial and sexual oppression, the CaribbeanAmerican black women suffer from the difficulties of establishing their identities. The reasons of Aveys losing cultural identity and the process of finding her identity from postcolonial feminist perspective are analyzed. Marshall emphasizes that only if black women respect the past and recognize their national culture and traditional rituals can they succeed in establishing their cultural identities.

摘要: 《寡妇赞歌》是葆拉·马歇尔的第三部小说,也是她自传型小说三部曲的最后一部。作为加勒比裔移民后代的美国黑人妇女,在种族和性别的双重压迫下面临着文化选择困境与身份认同危机。从后殖民女性主义批评视角分析女主人公艾维丢失文化身份的原因和寻找文化身份的过程,指出只有尊重过去,认可自己的民族文化及其传统仪式,才能成功建构黑人女性的文化身份。
