Abstract: In the past few years,the Chinese government has issued a succession of policies to support and encourage the national culture to “go international”. And Baishezhuan, one of the four classical Chinese folk legends, has accumulated a lot of literary and cultural prestige after a long life of its existence. So, against this background,theevolutionand international diffusion of Baishezhuan are studied from the perspective of Jakobson intersemiotic translation, and the influence of ideology on translation strategy is explored as well, in hopes of facilitating our understanding of the theory of intersemiotic translation, developing Chinese folklore better, and carrying forward Chinese traditional culture internationally.
