多模态新闻语篇图片极差表意机制研究

On the Evaluative Mechanism of Graduation in Multimodal News Pictures

摘要: 新闻报道不可避免带有主观性,这不局限于文字,新闻图片等视觉元素也能传达报道者的态度和观点,因此多模态评价已经成为新的研究热点。Martin和White提出的评价理论能够有效揭示新闻语篇中的态度和立场,其中“极差”系统是评价意义所展现出的等级性,贯穿于“态度”和“介入”系统,其作用至关重要。基于此,探讨多模态新闻语篇中图片极差意义的生成机制,并选取权威媒体中的多模态报道进行例证分析。

Abstract: News reports inevitably feature certain subjectivity, which is not only limited to texts, pictures and other graphic elements can also convey reporters attitudes and viewpoints, so multimodal evaluation has become a research focus. The evaluation theory proposed by Martin & White can effectively reveal the attitudes and positions in news discourses. According to the theory, graduation, which signifies the hierarchy of evaluational meaning, permeates both attitude and engagement, thus it is of vital importance. In this study, the working mechanism of pictures graduation system in multimodal news discourses is discussed, and multimodal news reports in authoritative media are analyzed for case study.
