Abstract: In the system of WANG Yangmings heartmind theory, “Mind is Principle” is the first proposition of all his philosophic thinking and is the premise foundation to understand the “Extension of Innate Knowledge” and “the Unity of Knowing and Doing”. The proposition of “Mind is Principle” contains three intensions, namely, the definition of mind and principle and the relationship between the mind, principle and the object. This proposition not only challenged the authority of NeoConfucianism, but also has significant and profound effect on all aspects of the later generations, such as the aspects of academy, morality, politics and culture.
