Abstract: Doris Lessing and Alice Munro are the two famous women writers in contemporary English writing, who are known for their outstanding literary achievements. Lessings Children of Violence is centered on female protagonists “quest”, reflecting womens pursuit of free living space; Munros short stories aimed to depict womens “runaway”, showing their desire for freedom and selfidentity. Though their writings differ in main plot and writing style, they both describe womens living state and express their deep concern for womens fate.

摘要： 多丽丝·莱辛与艾丽丝·门罗是当代两位著名的女作家，她们均以突出的文学成就闻名于世。莱辛的主要作品《暴力的孩子》五部曲以“追寻”为线索揭示出女性对自由生存空间的探寻；门罗的短篇小说以“逃离”为主要情节，刻画了女主人公逃离社会、家庭桎梏以及对自由与自我的追求。尽管两位作家的研究主题与写作手法不相同，但无论是莱辛的“追寻”还是门罗的“逃离”，都形象地反映了女性的生存状态，显示了作家对女性命运的深切关注与思考。
