The anti-power ethic proposed by Huntington and myth-status politics by Hofstadter are the two paradigms on American conspiracy theory. The former considers the conspiracy theory as a proof of the superiority of American political system, whereas the latter focuses on the anti-intellectualism and irrationality. Huntington’s hypothesis, with its highlight on the American creeds, ignores the role played by the conflicts of the social groups. Hofstadter’s theory, characterized by its elitism, overemphasizes the passivity of mass man. The conspiracy theory, as a reflection of the complex power relations, does not exist in merely a single form. A more careful analysis and multiple micro-perspectives will cast a new light on the mechanism of the conspiracy theory.

In the early years of the Republic of China, the central government and the local government of Tibet were competing with each other for the control of Chaya Living Buddha territoriality. After 1918, it was thoroughly governed by Qamdo “Duomaijiqiao”. Even so, in this period, Chaya Living Buddha still governs its people by the combining politics and religion. Through research of the first and second Xikang and Tibet wars and Qamdo to manage the Chaya Living Buddha jurisdiction, by comparing the founding of new China and the democratic reform of Chaya Living Buddha jurisdiction, it deeply and clearly shows how our socialist society rescued the vast Tibetans out of an abyss of misery.

Practical teaching is an important teaching link to guarantee the quality of higher education. The practice teaching situation of water conservancy and hydropower engineering in Chongqing Jiaotong University was introduced, then a practical teaching effect questionnaire survey was carried out, and the survey results are analyzed from three aspects including the overall understanding and evaluation, the hardware and the software of practice teaching. An Analysis on Contribution of Tourism Industry to Regional Economy in Gansu Province

The quantitative research on economic contribution of tourism industry in Gansu is an important research direction according to the tourism statistics from 1991 to 2014 in Gansu Province. First, the C-D production function of GDP and GDP of tourism industry in Gansu Province is established. Then the income multiplier of Gansu tourism industry is calculated. Finally, the income multiplier is used to study the contribution of tourism industry to economic growth in Gansu province. The three main findings of our study were as follows. First, in the last five years, the tourism income multiplier of Gansu province is 6.29, and the contribution of tourism to the regional economy is enormous. Secondly, Gansu tourism income multiplier has three inflection points in 1997, 2003 and 2008. Thirdly, the economic marginal effect of tourism income is declining, because of the slow development of tourism infrastructure, technical conditions and tourism service quality.

A fixed effect panel data regression model is constructed to analyze the influential factors of 29 listed SMEs accounts receivable financing efficiency in Anhui province. The results indicate that the enterprises solvency, mortgaged liquid assets, profitability and inflation have an obvious impact on the listed SMEs accounts receivable financing efficiency in Anhui province, however, only profitability and accounts receivable financing efficiency show an obvious positive correlation, while the remaining factors will lead to a decline in Anhui listed SMEs accounts receivable efficiency. On this basis, recommendations based on empirical results are given.

“The RockingHorse Winner” is a famous short fiction of Lawrences late works, which produces a great influence on people after being made into movie and selected into school and university curricula. The fiction tells a story about the death of a little boy named Paul. Just due to his death, most criticisms on the mother Hester hold the negative views but seldom analyze the implied patriarchy by the fathers “absence”. This study investigated whether the complex science was integrated or should be integrated into current undergraduate engineering education from the perspective of the students by a questionnaire and its analysis using SPSS to 422 undergraduate engineering students from a university in Chongqing, and compared the relative studies in the US and Australia. Its found that:the students lay a good foundation in mathematics, physics and engineering of our engineering education, but the science technology education and the general education for engineering students are still weak;undergraduate engineering education is deficient in interdisciplinary education and emerging technology;the students have mastered some problem solving skills and learning strategies, but the comprehensive training of core competencies is not emphasized enough;however, the students have come to realize the importance and necessity of incorporating complexity science into engineering education model and the undergraduates engineering curriculum. Therefore, there is need for a transformation of traditional engineering education model and a change in the current engineering curriculum, in order to adapt to the complicated and changeable world.

The discourse harmony is analyzed with two examples on how to use school official microblog to deal with public safety emergencies and crowd emergencies. The communication effect of official microblog and researched into the spread strategy in handling emergencies is also discussed. There are two findings in the study. Firstly, the official microblog used the discourse words, which featured with harmony interpersonal relationship function, to response, explain, warn and trace. While the function of discourse shows big difference between different emergencies and variant approaches. Secondly, when using school official microblog to cope with public emergencies, we should pay attention to the skills and effect of harmonious discourse, strengthen the discourse management in official microblog, set up and amplify the permanent mechanism of handling emergencies. College image can be well maintained and amended.

Through detailed analysis and comparison of the two translations of “wu you bu ru ji zhe”,it is argued, from the perspective Hermeneutics, that “have no friends not equal to yourself” by James Legge and “to refuse the friendship of all who are not like him” by Arther Waley are, to some extent, misrepresentations of the intended meaning of Confucius. An alternative is given which is more coherent with the source text and Confucianism as a whole.

From rhetorical situation and rhetorical strategies, four speeches of the remarks in exchanges of toasts delivered by heads of states of China, USA and UK when President Xi visited America and England were analyzed, aiming at having a clearer understanding of such a genre features. Firstly, qualitative analysis on the data collected from those speeches revealed that the rhetoric had been ignited by the situation formed by the attending audiences and constraints of the history, culture and national conditions of their countries, so that he/she showed his/her respects to each other and expressed his/her expectations for the further development of both nations. Then, with the help of “three appeals”(ethos, pathos and logos), the rhetoric used such strategies as perspective angles, historic perspective, emotional words and logical arrangements of the speeches to decorate the banquets. Lastly, a friendly and harmonious atmosphere could be constructed. In essence, all those mentioned above proves the nature of rhetoric that to build up a harmonious relations between each nation.

The framework of Membership Categorization Device is adopted and a conversation analytic (CA) approach is drawn to document detailed phenomena that account for native speaker/ nonnative speaker (NS/NNS) identity construction in multiparty bilingual interaction among Chinese and British. And their pragmatic meaning is discussed. The findings are: knowledge asymmetry upon a language is an important mechanism that constructs NS/NNS identity. Instead of a priori labels externally imposed on the dialog participants, NS/NNS are members categories selected to facilitate communication, and the knowledge asymmetry upon a language provides resources for the interlocutors to use in order to move the interaction ahead.

It is exceptionally feasible to analyze the tourist information text with the appraisal theory, which is attitudeloaded and interpersonal. Through comparison between two types of tourist information textsboth domestic and abroad, big differences are found that attitudinal resources, esp. appreciation resources distributed quite differently than another. As for the distribution of graduation resources, there are also many differences concerning the dimensions of intensification and quantification. Furthermore, attitudinal lexis is employed quite differently in these two discourses, which brings different interpersonal meaning and thus affects the effectiveness of the publicity for the tourism discourse.
