Abstract: There often exist both explicit and implicit appraisal in discourses. It is easy to identify explicit appraisal in discourses, but implicit appraisal, due to its disguise and flexibility of meaning, is sometimes difficult to recognize. In order to help readers better identify implicit appraisal, the possible ways for the realization of implicit appraisal in discourses are summed up by referring to the studies of Martin and White and Monika Bednarek, and also on the basis of the data study. The results show that there are three main ways for implicit appraisal realization: flagged, evoked and invited. Among them, flagged ways include graduation and noncore words; evoked ways contain similes and metaphors; invited ways involve grammar and afforded ways.

摘要: 语篇中的评价有显性和隐性之分,显性评价一般容易识别,隐性评价具有一定的隐蔽性和解读灵活性,往往不易识解。为帮助读者更好地识别语篇中的隐性评价,本文以Martin 和 White以及Monika Bednarek所做的隐性评价实现方式分析为参考,基于语料分析的结果,总结出三种主要的隐性评价实现方式:旗示、激发和邀请。其中旗示包括极差系统和非核心词汇两种方式,激发包括明喻和暗喻两种修辞方法,邀请包括语法资源和致使两种方式。
