Creativity of Translators: Imitation and Transformation in Cognition

摘要: 发挥译者创造性是翻译取得成功的关键。认知语言学理论为译者创造性的阐释提供了新视角,以识解理论为框架,从识解理论的五个维度出发并结合汉英翻译实例,探讨译者创造性的理据及其实现途径和方法,指出译者创造性表现为译者认知活动中求同存异的努力。

Abstract: Creativity of the translators plays a vital role in translation. To illustrate creativity of the translators, cognitive linguistics theories provide a new perspective. Based on the framework of the theory of construal, from five aspects it is suggested that creativity of the translators lies in the translators effort to change the ways of expression in the original texts in order to conform to the ideas of the original texts. It is demonstrated with the examples in Chinese-English translation to explore the way and the approaches to creativity of the translators.
