摘要： 20世纪70年代末期，著名翻译家董乐山先生怀着对日本和德国法西斯右翼极权主义的极端憎恶，主动选译奥威尔的经典作品《一九八四》，该小说首次在中国译介传播。《一九八四》是董乐山和奥威尔对全人类命运与前途思考的一次共鸣，翻译这本书是董先生作为社会主义者对信念的一次坚持，其译介过程彰显出译者的主体性，具体表现在译前选材、译中翻译风格的厘定和译后序言的呈现。

Abstract: At the end of the 1970s, the famous translator, Dong Leshan chose to translate Orwells classical novel, Nineteen Eightyfour, with the extreme aversion to Japanese and German fascist rightwing totalitarianism, making its debut in China. Translating the novel Nineteen Eightyfour is a resonance between Dong Leshan and Orwell on the destiny and future of all mankind. Translating this book is Dong Leshans insistence on the faith as a socialist. The translating process of this novel reveals the translators subjectivity embodied in his choice of translational work, his determination of its translating style and his presentation of its prefaces.
