Abstract: Appraisal theory，developed from the study of interpersonal meaning in functional grammar，involves the attitude，affects and values of the speaker as well as the interpretation of them from the listeners. The subsystem of attitude to the discourse analysis of the trendy welcome slogans for freshmen in the recent two years is applied. The necessity and the positive impact of this phenomenon are found out. And the deepseated meaning of the slogans is revealed.

摘要： 评价理论是系统功能语言学在对人际意义的研究中发展起来的，它涉及说话者的态度、情感、价值以及听者对其的解读。运用评价理论的态度系统，对近两年各大高校新潮迎新标语进行话语分析，讨论这一现象出现的必然性和积极意义，揭示新潮迎新标语背后隐含的各种深层含意。
