Abstract: The Guangxi Pingle Daoxiang Academy is a microcosm of numerous academies in the border provinces in the Qing dynasty. It reflects the local cultural construction and the value pursuit of the scholars in the southwestern border provinces in the Qing dynasty. Confucianism took precedence, with a special emphasis on the moral power of “lifelong moral education” and “establishing morality and cultivating people”. Secondly, the goal of the local officials and the head of the academy to educate talents had a strong value orientation of the world, hoping the talents chosen through the imperial examinations to achieve the urgent task of governance and salvation of the world. Finally, the elegant life of the scholars in their spare time for political affairs and lessons led the fashion of the place, and together they built and passed on the cultural tradition of “the rise of the humanities”.

摘要： 广西平乐道乡书院是清代边省地区众多书院的一个缩影。它映射出清代西南边省地区地方文化建构与士人价值追求以儒家思想为宗，特别强调“进德终身”“以德树人”的道德力量；地方官与书院山长化育人才的目标具有强烈的经世致用之价值导向，期冀所造就的人才通过科举途径实现治事、救世之急务；士人们政务、课士之余的风雅生活引领一地的风尚，他们共同构建并传递“人文蔚起”的文化传统。
