摘要: 朱利安·巴恩斯是英国当代文坛最具特色的作家之一,他偏爱历史题材,代表作《101/2章的世界历史》《豪猪》《亚瑟与乔治》《福楼拜的鹦鹉》等均可归之于琳达·哈琴所谓“历史编撰元小说”之列。在巴恩斯的此类创作中,看到一种独具魅力的历史书写,它既是后现代主义的代言,又与人文主义传统惺惺相惜,从而构建了一个丰富复杂的文本世界。在这个文本系统中,“历史”一再出场,不断自我彰显,又不断自我质疑,表达着作者的独特思考。

Abstract: Julian Barnes is one of the most distinctive writers in the British contemporary literary world. He favors historical themes especially in his representative works such as “A History of the World in 101/2 Chapters”, “The Porcupine”, “Arthur and George”, “Flauberts Parrot” and so on, which can be attributed to Linda Hutcheons socalled “historiographic metafiction”. In his works we can see a kind of unique charm of history writing which is both with postmodern and the traditional features. In this rich and complex text world, “history” comes out again and again, and constantly selfquestion and expresses the authors unique thinking about “history”.
