Abstract: Comparing Milan Kunderas novels created in the “Czech period” and “French period”， we can find that the narrative art is in the process of changing. In terms of narrative themes， politics and music are two important themes in the “Czech period”. When it turns to the “French period”， the political and musical themes in the novels faded gradually. At the same time， the proportion of exile themes continued to increase. In terms of narrative structure， the novels of the “Czech period” are well-conceived and complex. While in the “French period”， narrative structure of the works has become more casual and simpler. In addition， compared with the “Czech period”， Kundera has paid less attention to creative techniques in the “French period”. Combing and analyzing the evolution of Kunderas narrative art can provide important enlightenment for the study of his works.
